Que tenen en anglès cap mot comú amb estufa? #Psicolabis #Etimologia

No sembla que el mot estufa tingui un mot germà en anglès, però en canvi és molt evident. Estufa en anglès és stove, encara que avui es parla més de la calefacció, heating.

Probablement del llatí vulgar *extūfa, de *extūfāre, escalfar amb vapor.

I tifus / typhus (tī'fəs) prové en darrer terme de tuf/fum: New Latin tȳphus, from Greek tūphos, stupor arising from a fever, vapor, from tūphein, to smoke.

I alguna relació ha de tenir amb tou, tova, estovar: [s. XIII; del ll. tofus 'turo, tosca calcària', que es transformà en adj. en el sentit de 'porós, esponjós, bla' i ant. 'buit de dins']
